The client, a Seattle-based IT major, needed to migrate tens of thousands of knowledge base articles in 12 different locales to a new, proprietary platform. The project presented several obstacles as the target platform was under development, with no established workflows. With content spanning 12 locales, coordination across multiple time zones was critical. Also, the migration had to be minimally intrusive, completed with low involvement from site owners and sponsors while maintaining uninterrupted access for users. Identifying and prioritizing "golden content" for migration also required close collaboration with content owners.
Vidyatech designed and implemented a scalable and innovative solution to overcome these challenges:
Automation-driven efficiency: Deployed advanced automation tools and trained teams to handle large-scale content migration while adapting to evolving technical requirements.
Flexible workflows: The migration workflow evolved dynamically to accommodate changes in site templates, proprietary tools, and platform processes.
Proactive collaboration: Worked closely with project sponsors and content owners to ensure critical content was prioritized and accurately migrated.
Global support network: Established a round-the-clock support structure to coordinate efforts across time zones, ensuring smooth communication and execution.
The migration initiative delivered measurable value to the client:
Successful large-scale migration: Tens of thousands of articles were migrated seamlessly.
Exceeding migration goals: Migrated more pages than originally planned within the designated timeline and budget.
Enhanced content quality: Resolved broken links, redirected legacy pages, and ensured consistency in migrated content.
Global alignment: Delivered multilingual content migration in 12 locales with zero downtime or user disruption.
